iFIction Story Upload

Story Upload

This page is for uploading an HTML or Word .DOC manuscript to iFiction.

If you'd like to edit an existing story, go here.

Before you start filling out this form, you might want to get your story ready by creating two HTML (or Word .DOC) files: one part readers can see for free (such as the first 25% of the story) and the rest they pay for (such as the last 75%). How you split them is up to you; you could do nothing for free or all of it for free, 50/50, or the recommended 25/75; whatever you want. When you have those ready, fill out the form below. (If you don't like how they turned out, also use this form to upload replacement free/pay parts.)

Your Name (Mixed caps & lower case, please, as in "John R. R. Tolkien"):

Story Title (Mixed caps, as in "The Return of the King"):

Price you'll charge: $
Bear in mind that Paypal charges you 30¢ + 3% to receive payments; Paypal won't take more than you get, but you'll earn nothing if your minimum price is 31¢ or less (so you might as well just give it away free :-). Note that the entire amount goes to you directly from readers (except what Paypal takes). If you select a price of $0 -- AND click this box ⇒ "Yes I really want the entire story readable for free" -- then readers will be able to read the entire work for free and will be urged to make a voluntary donation to you.

Note: There is no charge to use iFiction, though if you find it useful, you may make a donation (appreciated but in no way required).

Your Paypal email address (If this is wrong, you won't get paid!):

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT PAYPAL:

  1. You MUST enable "Auto Return" on your Paypal account. To do this,
    1. log in to Paypal.com
    2. then either click this link, or manually go into the "Profile" screen, and go to "Website Payment Preferences"
    3. where you must click "Auto Return" to On and fill in the "Return URL" with the URL of your home page
    4. Click "Save" at the bottom of the page.
(This enables paypal to send readers directly to the pay part of your story after they've paid. The page that shows your story will meet the requirements they list, so that's all you need to do.) If you don't do this paypal WILL NOT WORK, so this is mandatory.

  2. If you don't have a Paypal account, you can create one for free via this link: Create a PayPal account. In order to take credit cards you MUST create a "Premier" or "Business" account (which are free but require being tied to a bank account to verify your identity). (The so-called "Personal" account is basically useless now.) Note that this email address will be inside the web form, which may get spam email sent to it; if you want, you can create a free email account on yahoo/gmail/hotmail/etc. and register it as an alias with Paypal (you need never again look at email for that address).

You must turn on Paypal's "auto-return" feature as noted above or readers will not be able to pay you!

Your home page:

Word Count (approx.):

Genre (some notes on picking a genre):

Science Fiction
Fantasy
Horror
Mystery
Romance
Erotica
Literary (non-genre, "ordinary" fiction)
Non-fiction

Short descriptive blurb to tell readers what the story is about:

Now browse to the two HTML or .DOC files you've created,

If you don't have an empty box and a "browse" button next to "filename to upload" down below, sorry, your browser won't let you use this form.

FREE part of the story (in HTML as you want it displayed, or .DOC) -- filename to upload:

PAY part of the story (in HTML as you want it displayed, or .DOC) -- filename to upload:
(The pay part should NOT include the free part, but be only the continuation of the story where the free part leaves off.)

I affirm that I am the legal owner of the copyright on this document or am authorized by the copyright owner to post this: Yes
Year the work is copyrighted:

Is this a REsubmission (revision) of something CURRENTLY on iFiction:
Yes-- These are new files for a story ALREADY on iFiction; i.e., replacement files, NOT a whole new story. The story id# is: and the author's password for that story is:

Note you must still fill in ALL fields on this form; what is here will overwrite existing values.

No-- This is a BRAND NEW STORY.
